Did Muhammad literally fly to heaven on a winged horse? Or was it a visionary experience? Or a lucid
Asked: Did Muhammad literally fly to heaven on a winged horse? Or was it a visionary experience? Or a lucid
I'm intrigued by this article — http://heresycorner.blogspot.com/2013/04 — and by some of the comments.
As I understand it, according to the Koran and Hadiths, in Muhammad's "Night Journey" he was taken at night to Jerusalem and thence on a tour of the heavens in the company of the Archangel Gabriel. In the course of the journey, the prophet had meetings with Biblical characters including Moses and John the Baptist, and conversed with Allah.
My question is: how do Muslims interpret the Night Journey?Of course, different people might have different interpretations. Please select one of the following options:
A) Muhammad literally flew to heaven on a winged horse. That is, in his physical body, Muhammad rode a physical winged horse, from Mecca to Jerusalem, and thence to heaven, where he met and conversed with physical dead prophets.
B) Muhammad had a visionary experience; i.e., he was vouchsafed a vision of heaven, a vision that was more real than an ordinary dream, in the sense that the vision that came from Allah and may therefore be described as being "real". But he did not literally fly to heaven on a winged horse.
C) Muhammad had a lucid dream, or similar experience in a state midway between sleep and wakefulness, which did not come from Allah.
D) None of the above.(Please elaborate.)

How to astral project?

Lucid Dreaming questions?
Asked: Lucid Dreaming questions?
My friend told me about Lucid dreaming, and now I kinda wanna try it. I've done some research on it and I have some questions about a couple things.
1) Is it dangerous? Like, could it make you not be able to breathe or paralyze you permanently? I've heard of "sleep paralyze" and from what I understand its just when your body relaxes when it sleeps.
2) When your Lucid Dreaming are you fully asleep? or is your body only half asleep from lack of your brain relaxing? Or is your brain relaxing anyway?
3) Once you begin Lucid Dreaming are you stuck sleeping like that forever? Like can you never just lay down and sleep again normally or will you always have to lucid dream?
4) What do people mean when they say you can't wake up during a lucid dream? What if it was a scary dream and I couldn't wake up? I don't want that… So can you wake up?
5) what is it like? Is it easy? Hard? Is it scary? Because from the horror stories I've read it scares me… Is it cool or WHAT? I just wanna know.
Please answer soon! AND PLEASE ANSWER AS SIMPLY YET UNDERSTANDABLE AS POSSIBLE!
Thanks in advance, a curious 13-year-old

Tips on staying lucid?

Last night I was dreaming at felt fully
Aware, I remember thinking as I was dreaming "okay I'm going to focus all my attention right on this dream" right then I became lucid. I went over to my neighbors house and began to kiss her but that's when I woke up, I didn't feel like I was about to wake up but that just triggered it. I feel back asleep immediately after and found myself dreaming again, only this time I gradually found myself aware that I was waking up. Any tips for the first scenario?
I'm a bit new to lucid dreaming as it doesn't happen to me very often.

What does the subjective experience associated with astral projection feel most like: lucid dreaming, self-hypnosis, sleep paralysis, guided visualization, or something else?
Recurring Dream about buying/visiting a haunted house?
Asked: Recurring Dream about buying/visiting a haunted house?
So almost every night for the past 9 months or so I've been having very long and detailed dreams (all my dreams are very long and detailed) about haunted houses, they are never houses I've visited in real life, however most of the time in the dream I feel like I've been to the house before, sometimes it's the same house but changed in some way, and other times it's a new house all together, but most of the time it's a house I'm looking at buying or just did buy in the dream.
Now here is the interesting part, or at least the part that makes it hard to find any information by searching the internet: Very rarely in my dreams is the haunting a negative thing, every once in awhile I'll get creeped out a little, but most of the time in the dream I'm loving the experience, and I can even communicate with the spirits and have them do things for me, such as I can ask them to open and close doors or turn lights off and on and they will do it for me without question. However even though the whole house is normally haunted, and most of it seems very friendly, there is almost always a certain part of the house that I just know I need to stay away from, either a basement, or an attic, or just a back bedroom, somewhere that I always just "know" that the bad spirits are, that can hurt people, but as long as I'm staying clear of that area, all is good.
Normally I don't think much about my dreams, I have always been a lucid dreamer, and my dreams have always been super detailed, to the point when I wake up I often have a hard time figuring out if what I'm remembering was a dream or something that I really did the day before. But this dream, or type of dream has been happening so often, I feel like I shouldn't ignore it. I can remember having very similar dreams every once in awhile from the time I was 3 or 4 on (I'm 28 now), but lately it's been almost every night. I do think about visiting a haunted house sometimes, and I also think about buying a house sometimes, but neither one often enough to cause nightly dreams on the subjects.
Any help would be amazing, all I can find online is that haunted houses mean unresolved issues, but I really don't feel that is the case here. It seems most of the haunted house dreams it's talking about are ones that cause fears, where as mine, rather than fear, cause me to feel closer to the spiritual world, in a way that I can only dream of (no pun intended).
Did i have a lucid dream/Sleep paralysis?
Asked: Did i have a lucid dream/Sleep paralysis?
When i was younger i use to have dreams where at some point, a guy would appear in the corner of my eye (he was always the same, and could be as close as in the same room or on the other side of the street) and he would sprint towards me. Now, let me explain why i am not sure if it was a lucid dream or not. in these dreams i was not aware that i was asleep (basically just a normal dream), but when he appeared i was obviously fully aware that i was dreaming. When he appeared, i would just drop to the floor like a ton of bricks and couldn't move or speak, when he reached me he would just stand over me and stare at me until i woke up (all this time i would have a loud buzzing/screeching sound in my head). This would happen every time i had a dream, no matter what, and i would just falland be unable to move and have a feeling of pressure on my chest. That's why im so confused, i had all the symptoms of sleep paralysis but it was mid-dream, which i thought couldnt happen. And i was still in the dream, not in my room. maybe it was just a recurring nightmare, i don't know. if you could shed any light on this for me then please do
I had my first lucid dream but couldn’t do anything?
Asked: I had my first lucid dream but couldn’t do anything?
Iwas dreaming I was in a hospital but suddenly the exits in the hospital were starting to change and I realized I was dreaming. I tried to fly but I couldnt. I was trapped inside the hospital. There were bloody dead bodies and I just started panicking. I tried to shoot one of the doctors with my fingers (super powers) I heard the gun shot but when I looked back he was still alive. Then I just said I want to wake up and headed for a window to jump out but before I got to the window I woke up.
Why couldn't I fly or change the scenery? I felt like I was lucid but still no control.
Did I experience atral projection?
Asked: Did I experience atral projection?
A few weeks ago I had something strange happen to me in my sleep. I think it might have been shortly after I fell asleep, I'm not too sure. But I woke up, in my dream? And I was still in my bed, where I had fallen asleep, and everything looked the same as it should. My room was dark and I began to feel like I was floating. This was an awkward and uncomfortable feeling for me so I tried my hardest to move but I felt very weak and it was difficult to move to the other side of the room, I just seemed to keep tumbling/spinning in circles the more I tried to move. I was floating right beside my bed, only I don't recall actually having a body, it was like just my spirit was there, on it's own. I began to feel very afraid and like I was in danger, I tried calling out to my mother as I slowly moved toward my door but no sound could really come out of my mouth. I was very aware that I was dreaming, but I was extremely conscious, I began to feel so uncomfortable I tried to make myself wake up which was surprisingly difficult to do. But I did wake up eventually and my room looked exactly the same as in my dream. (same lighting, etc)
Was this astral projection or just lucid dreaming?
Why can’t I fly in lucid dreams?
Asked: Why can’t I fly in lucid dreams?
I've had atleast 15 in the two months I've known about them.. I've only been able to fly in one. And I can't spawn people / change people into objects. I know you have to EXPECT it will happen and I always do. When I try to fly I say "I can fly. It's possible and it's easy." I start to run then jump, and fall right back down. Also, when I try to spawn people, I close my eyes and say "When I open my eyes they'll be in front of me." They never are. Please explain what I'm doing wrong????

Is lucid dreaming scary and how do you do it?
Asked: Is lucid dreaming scary and how do you do it?
I read somewhere about how amazing lucid dreaming is and that it's an out of body experience however I've heard others have head scary noises and have had horrible lucid dreams and because you can't move it's worse so I'm scared to do it. Plus I don't know how to do it so it would be nice for someone to tell me how to do it

Lucid dream – Could this be one?
Asked: Lucid dream – Could this be one?
Last night it was like I was between sleeping and dreaming but awake.
I felt numb but pleasurable and couldnt move my body but I could control what was happening in my dream and it felt like real life. I soon awoke out of it though and couldn't fall back into the same wake/dream parallel.
Was this a lucid dream?
