Kay Asked: Odd blacking out- I know I was awake but my body says I was sleeping?
Once every two months or so I have these odd blackouts. I will be sitting or laying down and suddenly be brought back to consciousness anywhere from five minutes to a half hour later. I will still be sitting/laying how I was. It almost feels like I fell asleep but I never actually went to sleep? I don't feel odd physically after, I am just confused as how I just simply lost time. It's not lucid dreaming either. I lucid dream more often than not and this is simply like what I imagine blacking out after drinking to be.

It is likely that you are entering into a deep meditative (theta) state. This is very lucky because many, many people have a great difficulty achieving a theta state and have to kind of trick their mind into it. This theta state is very healthy, if you achieve it daily for 20 minutes to an hour. You can start with short periods as you are and slowly will yourself to extending the state. Doing this has been an accepted spiritual and philosophical practice for millennia. Believe me, if everyone were able to do it routinely, the world would be a far, far better place. It is at this level where you commune with the collective unconscious, the One-ness.
