Many people believe astral projection is dangerous due to the fact that your astral body (and essentially, soul) is vulnerable to be a host for demonic entities that might be around in the astral relm.

When you leave your body and astral travel, you can go as far as your front yard to Mars, apparently. The place you go doesn't really have a certain name. It's just, anywhere, everywhere and beyond pretty much. Some call it the "astral relm".

There have been instances where people got lost, and it took them a while to get back to their body, but you can not go into a coma or die. You are connected by a silver cord to your body, that cord will only break when you die, not when you have an OBE. It would take a heart attack or something for that to happen, which is extremely unlikely. The worst that could occur is a headache due to lack of oxygen, because the heart rate and breathing slows down a bit when your body is in an astral traveling state.

I've seen that and wondered the same thing, so I looked it up. You cannot get lost while in an OBE, one website said that there is a connection from your spirit to your actual body…a connection almost like a silver power cord that keeps you tied to your body. And no it is not dangerous. When in an OBE, you can visit any time period, era, destination or another dimension if you wanted to. Always you can always go back to your body, its YOUR body. Yes astral projection is real, but the drama in the movie Insidious is just writing. No, you cant get lost…it just made for a good movie. So there is nothing to fear. My mother is a psychic and told me she wouldnt let me do OBEs if they were dangerous. But she lets me.

I can lucid dream, I have been practicing for about 5-6 months now, And i almost have it down pat, Although they are similar (OBE's and Lucid dreams)
I found it virtually impossible to get lost,
Because if anything bugged you, Frightened you, or you didnt believe was real, Sucked you right back in your body.
It is a quite amazing thing to do,
It is endless what you can do, Although it does take ALOT of practice and you cant do it always,
The possibilities are endless. And the saying 'Anything is possible' is actually true.
Whether itd be to shapeshift, Fly, Be the king of the world. This can all happen.
The minute you believe you cant fly, Bang dream over.
Your mind has to be set free, And to have it opened up to any possibilities.
In my recent Lucid dreams and OBEs.
AVOID MIRRORS at all costs.
It can turn into a distorted figure and frighten you, You can be stuck in your dream getting tormented. For as long as your brain can handle usually 3 seconds in real life. 10 minites in dream time.
Just learn to change it into something.
Like my face and body had a demon standing becide me with a knife. i quickly believed The demon in the mirror was my best friend and Bam all happy again.
Sorry about the story, I just find lucid dreams alot easier

A sleeping body would have to be moved without waking and placed in a location unknown to the sleeper.
Actually that would be pretty funny. Playing a trick on a boob that doesn't know a dream when they have one.
