I want to lucid dream tonight or in the next few nights. I have looked into it before and listened to a few hypnosis tapes but I never really seemed to have time to do it because of school. But now since it is summer I want to really get the hang of it so I don't have to spend as much time on it as I might have to during the school year. I know a few ways to finally have a lucid dream, but they take an extremely long time to show any signs of progress and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what I could d to have my first lucid dream in a couple of nights. Pilot Asked: My dreams are very weird?

1) I can lucid dream, or at least have some control over my dreams, whenever I feel like it. When I'm thirsty a bartender appears, I can change my clothes, even. When I have an unresolved issue with someone, they appear and I practice having a conversation with them about the issue. Usually, though, we end up speaking gibberish.

2) They're very vague and odd. The events are disconnected and strange– one minute I'm doing cartwheels in a football stadium, the next I'm fighting ninjas, the next I'm wrangling alligators in an earthquake. They never feel lifelike, and I always know I'm dreaming. For example when something bad happens, I shout out, "Don't worry, it's a dream, we're all going to be just fine."

3) I die all the time. I'm never scared or concerned about it, usually I go down laughing. I've downed multiple times, been stabbed, shot, or buried alive, but I'm never the least bit worried. After I die the dream continues and I watch it unfold.

When I ask people about their dreams, they are nothing like this. From what I can tell most other people have little to no control over their dreams, and believe that if you die in your dream, you die in real life. This has certainly not been my experience. What could cause this? Why are my dreams different?

For about 2 days in a row I've had this experience.

The first time I had it was when I was in the transition mode between awake and sleep.
It happened when I was just about to sleep. I wanted to grab the pillow beside me so I moved my hand slightly. At first I couldn't move my hand and it felt like a sleep paralysis, so I started moving my little finger hoping that the sleep paralysis could break. However, I felt the sensation that my hand moved but the pillow stayed at the same place. I opened my physical eyes and tried moving it again and I successfully moved my hand, but as my hand moved, my eyes saw that it physically remained at the same place.

The second time happened when I was already in light sleeping and already dreaming. I usually start dreaming right before I sleep and hear random voices that doesn't relate to reality. So I was lucid dreaming where I heard a commercial from tv, then I got back into reality and opened my physical eyes. I saw my room but I couldn't focus on the images seen. I then lifted myself up and back down on bed. However, my body did not move again! I freaked out as I was 100% sure I lifted myself up and back down but my body just didn't response! I was in shocked so I got snapped back into my physical body.

The whole experience just felt as if I moved my astral self but my physical body remained asleep. During the second time, I was in shock that my body didn't move when I move my astral self so I immediately snapped back in and could focus on the objects after that.

s this Lucid Dreaming/Hallucinations or a part of Astral Projection/Out-of-body experience?
And also, is it possible to have an OBE under stress?

You can lucid dream, but it is somewhat difficult to achieve. You have to be able to distinguish the dream from reality, which is hard to do.

I couldn't sleep last night(this morning whatever ^^;) until around 4:40am I believe, my dream started off with me and my boyfriend staying at his mom's friends house for a while and she had 3 kids. Then all of a sudden I get a text from my mom in the dream saying how something is wrong. Then my phone dies after I've just charged it. So I think "This isn't right, it's got to be a dream" so I try to wake up.

Then some weird figure smiles at me I think and my dream changes. This time, my boyfriend is nowhere to be found and everyone is calling me a murderer. So I shout "This cant be real! I have to wake up!" so in my dream I'm hitting walls and trying to scream. No matter how much force I put behind the blows, then only collided with the wall as a tiny tap. And when I tried to scream, nothing would come out. I kept crying and shaking, telling myself I need to wake up, and praying I could think of something.

Then the dream changes again…I can't remember much on this last part, but then I tried screaming and hitting things again. Same outcome. After trying screaming once more I hear a little peep come from me as I wake up. 5:35am, My body was rigid and my mouth and throat were really sore and dry. Despite me drinking a lot of water and tea an hour before. I think it was sore and dry because of me trying to make myself scream…I could feel my lips forming in my dream but no noise until that little peep at the end. So I turn on the light and just sit there, shaking and close to tears. It might not sound like much, but it was extremely scary. I think it was sleep paralysis along with the lucid nightmare. What I didn't get, that strange pulling feeling….something in my lucid nightmare didn't want me waking up, and I felt that same eerie feeling when I actually did wake up. It was really scary…

Any thoughts on this? >.<

Hello all. I am a Christian who regularly prays and meditates. I am a very spiritual person. I recently have learned about astral projection and how to increase your natural psychic abilities. I was wondering if astral projection or opening your third eye is a sin. I have a good understanding of the bible, and I think it is ok to do as long as I do not use it for sinful reasons. I plan to use it to help people and would like to state that I am not using it to talk to ghosts,etc.If I ever did talk to anything it would be my guardian angel. And just as the bible says I would test the spirit. I don't remmeber the passgae but the apostle Paul said to test any spirit you come across and if it does not confess Jesus as true God , then you should not talk to it. Thanks all!!

I have no idea if I just had an experience of astral projection. This was way back like 4 or 3 years ago and now I'm 14. But I ignored it though,because it was kinda scary.I remembered that I was in my backyard just standing there,but I was just walking on the stone bricks. At the end of the stone bricks, I stopped. I couldn't move, it felt like there was something freezing me, its like its trying to stop me from moving. Then I woke up,and I think I was paralyzed or I wasn't, I don't really much remember of how I woke up. But I think I've got paralyzed. Usually when I dream, their aren't that vivid most of the time. Some are vivid, but some are not. This vision was vivid,it feels like I was literally there in my backyard,kindamore realistic but seems kinda fake. So do you think I astral projected or was just a regular dream.
