I wouldn't read into it too much, or else you're just going to freak yourself out.A lot of people say that dreams are "reflections" of your subconscious, but really that just means that the content of the dream might be on your mind.Trying to analyze it probably makes the image more recurring.I have had bad dreams that happen multiple times as well. But if you really want to get some meaning out of it…maybe the demon represents something that you fear? You killing it seems to be a good sign, because it represents your resilience and willingness to face what you're afraid of.
Matt is definitely on the right track, Jesse. The demon does represent something you are afraid of in real life. It is not a real being. It is a metaphor pointing toward something else that scares you.
One way you can tell that the image of this demon is not real is that it is so typical. What you describe is the stereotypical "demon" or "devil" found everywhere from the movie "Hellboy" to video game demons to the symbol on cans of deviled ham.Your own mind pulled up the standard "demon" image to represent something scary.
The number 17 might mean any of several different things, from a room number (where an exam is scheduled?) to a date (when the exam is given?) to a street number or a particular train. But Zia Lucia is guessing that the actual number in the dream was your own age: 14. Maybe your parents tend to say, "Why don't you act your age? You're 14, and too old to behave that way!"
So, Jesse, no worries. It's just a nightmare, and you can probably quickly figure out for yourself just what that demon represents. Here is a link to Zia Lucia's own website, where there are lots more examples of nightmares and more discussion of what the demons and other monsters might represent.

I had the same type of lucid dream,
I am Also 14 and hve recently been experimenting lucid dreaming.
First these silhouettes of people were running at me (as soon as I fell into the dream) and I was stuck stock still and I was thinking how to defend myself so o tried ands suddenly my head turned and my body ran towards a sword lying on the ground and then I had total control of my body and I managed to kill them, but as soon as I killed the last one a demon jumped off a rooftop and stabbed me.
As soon as hour had done so I began to float up above my body (srtill seeing the monster beat me up) and then the world fell apart. And I woke up scared.
Excuse my bad grammar I am on my phone
