jessewhite Asked: dream about demon trying to kill me?
when i was around 7 or 8 i had a lucid dream of seeing the devil in a elavator.it was so real i woke up crying, the dream itsself felt spiritual. well im 14 now and two nights ago i had a dream of a demon wich in the dream i refered to as a demon he had a red body taller then a human with horns.he was murdering large groups of people and it came down to me and another girl the way he was gonna kill us was putting us in cement.he said i was number 17 (im almost positive it was 17 if not it was 13 or 14) but after he killed the girl i was with i chopped his head off,and then with his arms he chopped some of his neck of too and then was dead.and then i ran down the strees covered in blood sayinng how the demon wants to kill me and im number 17 and no one believed me.and then people i knew where demons in disguise.does anyone know what this meens?
I wouldn't read into it too much, or else you're just going to freak yourself out.A lot of people say that dreams are "reflections" of your subconscious, but really that just means that the content of the dream might be on your mind.Trying to analyze it probably makes the image more recurring.I have had bad dreams that happen multiple times as well. But if you really want to get some meaning out of it…maybe the demon represents something that you fear? You killing it seems to be a good sign, because it represents your resilience and willingness to face what you're afraid of.
Matt is definitely on the right track, Jesse. The demon does represent something you are afraid of in real life. It is not a real being. It is a metaphor pointing toward something else that scares you.
One way you can tell that the image of this demon is not real is that it is so typical. What you describe is the stereotypical "demon" or "devil" found everywhere from the movie "Hellboy" to video game demons to the symbol on cans of deviled ham.Your own mind pulled up the standard "demon" image to represent something scary.
The number 17 might mean any of several different things, from a room number (where an exam is scheduled?) to a date (when the exam is given?) to a street number or a particular train. But Zia Lucia is guessing that the actual number in the dream was your own age: 14. Maybe your parents tend to say, "Why don't you act your age? You're 14, and too old to behave that way!"
So, Jesse, no worries. It's just a nightmare, and you can probably quickly figure out for yourself just what that demon represents. Here is a link to Zia Lucia's own website, where there are lots more examples of nightmares and more discussion of what the demons and other monsters might represent.
