I kind of agree with you on that point Tamala... and that goes for pretty much anything. A person could do any act, be it a good or bad one, to a sinful level. However, I think and truly believe that lucid dreaming is not inherently evil or sinful. doing anything to excess can be a bad thing. I think this is where the sin of gluttony comes from. It's not just about eating too much, but rather doing anything to excess.

Thank you very much for posting your comment. I hope to hear from you again.

Best regards

I think maybe it could be a sin, because you would rather be sleeping, than living and praying. I mean if you like to dream so much it's just like being dead.

yes i have. i have been researching the so called rulers of the world, the bilderburg group, the bohemian club, the illuminati, the freemasons, and all the evils that our government and these secret societes are involved with. you are not crazy for believing in occult because the bohemian club is certainly that. ever since ive been looking into these types of things ive had trouble sleeping, weird and disturbing dreams, night terrors, and paranoia. im not religious but i do believe in occult. i wouldnt recommend being afraid though, because no matter what we do, the rich population will continue to do whatever they want. instead i would love one another and do the best you can to be a good person and spread the message. that way we can all act as a whole and love one another, instead of living in fear or fighting each other

LOL! I LIKE U! lol funny @ 4 am comments LMAO! UR SUCH A DORK, A CUTE DORK BUT A DORK NONTHELESS. HAHA I'm trying to be lucid and i know your annoyance, but it's supposed to be easy, or you are supposed to tell yourself that it's easy, but that doesn't help it, i think it's more of BELIEVING that it's easy. Believing is much different. I was thinking that maybe like for us to believe that it's easy we prob need to see an example or whatever, empirical right? But how the heck are you supposed to have an example when it involves yourself in it. lol! so yah, oh yes and just cause you are smart doesn't mean you can be lucid. being lucid in a dream involves comprehension of the dreamworld and what is involved in getting there, it takes practice and patience, I wish we could just wave our hands and voila ur lucid, but no, like everything in life it takes a lot of practice. roadblocks, i hate roadblocks! they make things so hard and miserable. we should try the wake induced lucid dreaming, where u fall asleep but knowingly awake? does that even make sense?!?!? it's not supposed to for normal people, but then again we aren't normal AHAHA. anyways i'm rambling. ok bye

Wow, I never knew the hand technique was this effective. I use a similar technique, instead of a hand I make sure or at least try and look at my face in the mirror. I have several mirrors and reflective surfaces at home so this works sometimes also when you look at your face you always look very different and sometimes bizarre and frightening. I looked in the mirror in one of my dreams once and I noticed I didn't have any eyes! it was extremely puzzling and weird but sometimes the shock wakes you up.

Thanks for sharing your story, I'll share one of mine from my dream diary later but for now I want to see if I can lucid dream tonight after a long time.

Shared dreaming is an extremely complex task that takes much work. Becoming lucid in this dream is even harder. A friend and i attempted this when i was at his house for a few days. The first day we looked into shared dreaming a bit and got the concept. that night we obviously failed because of lack of info. So on day 2 we studied as much as we could, hitting every website possible. That night we went completely by the book. Telling ourselves to find eachother in the dream so on and so forth. That night we both went to sleep late and i woke up at nine the next morning without a single dream. I sat up and looked across the room at my friend to realize that he was still asleep. So i said out loud "i have to find him". I fell back asleep, and suddenly i was in his house in the living room. i went into his room and found him sitting on his bed rubbing his eyes. At this point im lucid and he is not. So i told calmly told him "dude we are dreaming". He looked at his hands and said "whoa we are". Long (dream) short when we woke we both described the same dream and he was able to quote EVERYTHING that i said and vice verse. A big way to achieve shared dreaming is to try it with a really close friend. In both the same room and know eachother for a long period of time and have the subject of shared dreaming brought up a TON throughout the day.

This appears very helpful for a start, but I think it would really help for this article to be more in depth (ex. More of what to look for when entering the lucid dreaming state, or what it might feel like in that transition).

I've read in some places that this can in fact be dangerous if performed incorrectly, so I'm doing whatever I can to get as much information as possible before I attempt this.

Also, out of curiosity, how far does the lucid dreaming environment differ from the environment you're actually in? Or is that entirely up to the dreamer? Any answers would be greatly appreciated!

I don't even understand why someone would need to ask this. It all depends upon your point of view. What precisely would be sinful about lucid dreaming? When you say "sin" I think of the biblical "sin" and the only thing I can think of is the in-dream fulfillment of a lustful whim, although that too is debatable as to whether or not it counts as it was all in your mind. You must ask yourself why it is considered sin. Is it because it hurts people around you? Or is that incorrect and it is sin because it impurifies you [your mind(soul?)]? You've got to decide what it is that you consider "sin" to be and then decide whether or not the actions that take place in your mind are run by the same definitions. (BTW I have yet to fully lucid dream and by god I WILL do it be it a sin or not)

I have been lucid dreaming for about four years. At first it was frightening as well as seductive. I have no one in my circle of family and friends that experiances these night adventures. So I am sure my husband finds my articulations ridiculous at times. The one aspect of my lucid dreams that amazes me is the eye contact with other people in the dream. If it is a dream. These are not faces of anyone I can recall meeting in real life. They are so expressive in nature, as if I "know them", or they know we are in a lucid dream together and they exist in the real world as well. I would appreciate any input on this. Best Liz

Well guys, I can def tell you that shared dreaming does happen. I know it for myself, for a fact. The reason for this mainly, is because one of many experiences I've had with the spiritual world. Simply put, I had a dream about my neighbors wife, for some odd reason. I remember seeing the image of her face that was basically how I knew I dreamt of her. That same day, I even told my cousin about it, and how I expected them to show up to our house or something. Actually what happened instead, I found out she had divorced him that day. At first I thought someone had died at my aunts reaction. I even tried to tell the guy I had the dream and that was weird. But it made no difference to the situation for him. I just sorta got a connection in my dreams. And that is one of the reasons I keep searching for answers.

The reason for this mainly, is because one of many experiences I’ve had with the spiritual world.

Thanks for reading.

Guiding your dreams is a little bit tricky. When you dream, a large portion of the dream is a projection of your own thoughts. Simply telling yourself what dreams you want to have is not a perfect way to guide them, but it does help. It is a lot like rowing a boat on a river. You can paddle to one direction or the other, but the rushing water of the river has a lot to do with where the boat goes.

What works best is having a clear image or thought in your mind as well as telling yourself how your dream should be. This will increase in effectiveness over time. The first try doesn't always work. Don't stop trying.

What happened with your dream that went differently than you had planned? It could be that you have a prevailing problem or disturbance in your life that over powers your desire to have a "happy" dream. Also, it might help to have in your mind what you mean by "happy". Happy can mean so many different things and what is happy to one person is not happy for another. Concentrate on the content of your dreams before and as you are falling asleep and it will help you to guide it better.

I hope that helps. Good luck and happy lucid dreaming. Let us know how it goes and if you need some more ideas.

Extraction and inception are complex concepts. I am not sure if there has been much work in this area of lucid dreaming. The Robert Monroe Institute has claimed to have studied and performed scientific tests on "shared lucid dreams" where more than one person has the same dream and can interact. That is the closest to something like inception that I am aware of. This is considered advanced lucid dreaming and branches off into other areas such as astral projection and even experiencing alternate realities.

This is some pretty interesting stuff. I've read about lucid dreaming a while back but never really got into it. Sometimes I have some crazy out-of-control dreams that really makes no sense, then there are other times where I have dreams where everything goes my way. Thanks for sharing this interesting topic here on tribepro!
