This i want to try a lot. Though I'm scared i might mess it up in some way and accidentally think of aliens or some crazy thing like that. But I've also heard that lucid dreaming helps nightmares. My friend told me a technique how to lucid dream, but she said it took a while for her... about a month to really go into a deep lucid dream. She said it lasted for an hour. I honestly have not dreamed for more than 13 seconds. When i wake up i have no memory of how long it was but just a little glimpse of certain scenes. It feels like it was only a short amount of time... But her method was to lay completely on your back and think of a room... this room has no windows. Its a dark room. there is a table... and a chair... and you just keep thinking about this room as you gently fall asleep. I've lucid dreamed before... but it wasn't that long. I was near my school. everyone was cheering for me... then i realized i was flying and then when i did i fell... i was on the ground and i got hurt but i didn't feel anything, then i tried flying from the ground again and i didn't it took me about 2 more quick times after that and i started to fly but this time i could move left to right and change the way i was moving. But it sounds like it was long.. but it didn't feel long... anyone know a quick-ish way to preform a LONG (doesn't have to be that long at least a half an hour or something relatively long so i can actually remember most details) lucid dream?

The problem I get every night (or morning) is that my heart always starts to beat so heavily!! I try the WILD technique, and I didn't have any success yet...

The part I'm always stuck at the the Pre-Sleep Paralysis stage:
I am about to have no control of my body, but I can still feel it. I feel a tiny, tiny sense of vibrations. Then, out of nowhere, my heart just starts pounding! I say to myself "Stop pounding, stupid! I'm not even scared!"

Lol. But I guess I am over-excited when I reach this stage. Can I please have some advice to how I can solve this problem, excitement? (Thanks!)

I am 14 and hve recently been experimenting lucid dreaming.

First these silhouettes of people were running at me (as soon as I fell into the dream) and I was stuck stock still and I was thinking how to defend myself so o tried ands suddenly my head turned and my body ran towards a sword lying on the ground and then I had total control of my body and I managed to kill them, but as soon as I killed the last one a demon jumped off a rooftop and stabbed me.

As soon as hour had done so I began to float up above my body (srtill seeing the monster beat me up) and then the world fell apart. And I woke up scared.

Excuse my bad grammar I am on my phone

When I was young, I used to have the same dream every night for about four weeks. The dream was strange; I was standing on the edge of a giant stone cliff, a sheer drop to a hard landing on spiked rocks below. However, the sky was not a normal sky - it was pure black, with purple, green, and dark blue dots blinking and speeding crazily across it. I was standing on the edge of the cliff, but I wasn't afraid - I KNEW I WAS DREAMING, I don't know how.

Then, after looking at the dizzying drop before me, I would leap off the edge and plummet to what appeared to be my death. It was only as I was close to hitting the rocks, and still had not woken, that I began to scared. The ground rushed up to me, I shut my eyes, and I WILLED myself awake.

And I would jolt awake, facedown in bed, feeling as if I had just jumped from a cliff and hit the rocky floor below. It would still be night, and pitch black, but I wouldn't go to sleep for the rest of the night. It had felt so real.

It's not necessary to look at your hands, but I have found it to be useful and I have read that a lot of people use this method of helping themselves realize they are dreaming. The real trick is remembering to look at your hands. It's almost like you have to know that you are dreaming to realize that you need to look at your hands so that you know you are dreaming. Fortunately, all this makes more sense while in the dream. You will see what I mean if you have a chance to try it.

I don't know who is worst. The Christians with their "Jesus and Bible turn or burn only way", or the Atheists with their "You die and thats it...you're an idiot for thinking of any possiblity of something happening after death." Both are two extreme opposite views that are obsessed with their views. Only gulible idiots out there are the ones whom closed off their mind to possibilities and understanding. I might not believe in everything claimed...but to share and understand and learn culture beliefs and research with an open mind is the best method. Instead of saying its Black or White only. As for the poster Id say research the internet forums on Astral Project and Lucid Dreaming. Read up on Robert Monroes research and techniques. Its not an easy task to perform.

The reason I'm here is because Google is my church! It has the answer to everything. I googled, "woke up with head shaking". Yesterday, I barely ate. I had a big slice a pizza and a Cesar salad.; that's it and very unusual for my diet. It gave me a headache mid day and I took Excedrine Migrane as I always do at the onset of a headache or migrane. Of course because I continued to be too busy to eat SOMETHIING my headache progressed into a full swing migrane. I finally had that piece of pizza round 8pm but the migrane didn't subside. Finally at midnight I enjoyed a salad and went home. I avoided a second dose of Excedrine due to the caffeine issue and simply consumed plenty off soda water and lemonade and dozed off normal with no migraines disturbing my sleep. I slept peacefully until about 6am when my significant other left for work. I played games on the computer before falling back to sleep and must have been sleeping for less than an hour when I woke up from a frightening dream about me taking pictures of my daughter when a bee suddenly flew into my hair near the backside of my head. I assumed it had stung me because my head started to violently shake and I realized I was dreaming and remained calm until I woke myself up to find my head my physically vibrating back and forth. I thought I was dying! Just before panic set in the shaking came to a hault. It all happened so fast. From the dream to the complete alertness of what had happened. Google has let me down in a small way because I got only these forums' references and nothing actually linked to a professional know-it-all. Emotionally, I don't think this is anything to fret about. I have vivid dreams and I'm convinced the physical shaking was nothing more than a response to my dreaming and fear of bees. The migrane and light eating may have a part in all this too.

i am a Christian, and i am also an avid Lucid dreamer. there is nothing wrong with lucid dreaming, we dream normally every night, its a God given gift, its normal. lucid dreaming is simply knowing your dreaming while you are dreaming, its simply a state of mind.

i think if someone says lucid dreaming is bad then they are saying dreaming is bad, but you can't help dreaming, it happens. also many people have a lucid dream at some point or another in their life, some people have the spontaneously here and there without trying, is that bad? no, its not.

of course, i guess i am slightly different from the average Christian. then again i am not really the average kind of person either so....yeah

It just so happens that I've found myself in a few nightmares so wrong that I come to realize that I'm dreaming. However, I'm so scared that I want to wake up. In one occasion I was chased by I creature in a children's playground. While I was hiding, I realized I was dreaming. I couldn't control my body either. But if you focus enough, will yourself to do it, you can make yourself open your eyes. I've never really gotten much further body control done other than forcing my eyes open or moving my mouth. Opening eyes always wakes me up, and moving my mouth works but slowly pulls you into consciousness

Wow! I'm glad to see there are at least a couple of people like me...LOL!! I have been having these "experiences" since I was about 5 or 6 years old. For years and years, (I'm now 43) they terrified me! I didn't know what to make of it all and at times, thought I was losing my mind! I would actually move around the room, in the air, flying, I guess. It was all very strange, and then I would try to wake up, but couldn't. Only, I knew I was asleep, because I could see myself. It wasn't until about 10 years ago, when I got a Border Collie (named her Maggie), that I started to relax. The reason? I figured out that I could find her and call out her name and she would come over and lick me until I was awake and moving again. I know that sounds absolutely absurd, but it's very true!! I didn't tell anyone, because I didn't want people, family, to think I was crazy. But, one night when my mom and I had gone to Atlanta to see a ballgame, we were in our room after the game, and I had this happen again. I could see my mom lying in the bed next to me, and I knew that if I called her name, she would wake up and then try to wake me, so, I called out to her. I actually saw her get out of the bed and walk over to me, put her hands on my shoulder and gently say, Angela, wake up, you're having a bad dream. The next morning at breakfast, I decided to confide in her about what had been happening. When I told her the exact time I woke her and that she got out of the opposite side of the bed from the one I was in and walked around and woke me up, her jaw dropped! She had a hard time understanding it, but she believed me! It was the first time I felt a little relief! Now, I'm convinced that this is an OBE. Up until tonight, I could actually relax when it happened and enjoy it. Tonight however, something very strange happened that was quite disturbing, and I immediately fought to bring myself around. As I was lying there in bed, I began hearing weird voices. At first, just talking, then a static like sound and singing...almost like someone turning on a radio and changing the channel...only I don't have a radio in my room at all...not even a television. Has this happened to anyone else?? I'm not sure what to think about this change of events!!

I kind of agree with you on that point Tamala... and that goes for pretty much anything. A person could do any act, be it a good or bad one, to a sinful level. However, I think and truly believe that lucid dreaming is not inherently evil or sinful. doing anything to excess can be a bad thing. I think this is where the sin of gluttony comes from. It's not just about eating too much, but rather doing anything to excess.

Thank you very much for posting your comment. I hope to hear from you again.

Best regards

yes i have. i have been researching the so called rulers of the world, the bilderburg group, the bohemian club, the illuminati, the freemasons, and all the evils that our government and these secret societes are involved with. you are not crazy for believing in occult because the bohemian club is certainly that. ever since ive been looking into these types of things ive had trouble sleeping, weird and disturbing dreams, night terrors, and paranoia. im not religious but i do believe in occult. i wouldnt recommend being afraid though, because no matter what we do, the rich population will continue to do whatever they want. instead i would love one another and do the best you can to be a good person and spread the message. that way we can all act as a whole and love one another, instead of living in fear or fighting each other

LOL! I LIKE U! lol funny @ 4 am comments LMAO! UR SUCH A DORK, A CUTE DORK BUT A DORK NONTHELESS. HAHA I'm trying to be lucid and i know your annoyance, but it's supposed to be easy, or you are supposed to tell yourself that it's easy, but that doesn't help it, i think it's more of BELIEVING that it's easy. Believing is much different. I was thinking that maybe like for us to believe that it's easy we prob need to see an example or whatever, empirical right? But how the heck are you supposed to have an example when it involves yourself in it. lol! so yah, oh yes and just cause you are smart doesn't mean you can be lucid. being lucid in a dream involves comprehension of the dreamworld and what is involved in getting there, it takes practice and patience, I wish we could just wave our hands and voila ur lucid, but no, like everything in life it takes a lot of practice. roadblocks, i hate roadblocks! they make things so hard and miserable. we should try the wake induced lucid dreaming, where u fall asleep but knowingly awake? does that even make sense?!?!? it's not supposed to for normal people, but then again we aren't normal AHAHA. anyways i'm rambling. ok bye

Wow, I never knew the hand technique was this effective. I use a similar technique, instead of a hand I make sure or at least try and look at my face in the mirror. I have several mirrors and reflective surfaces at home so this works sometimes also when you look at your face you always look very different and sometimes bizarre and frightening. I looked in the mirror in one of my dreams once and I noticed I didn't have any eyes! it was extremely puzzling and weird but sometimes the shock wakes you up.

Thanks for sharing your story, I'll share one of mine from my dream diary later but for now I want to see if I can lucid dream tonight after a long time.
